* WHAT...Hot temperatures of 100 to 105 degrees, possibly up to 110
degrees in the Klamath River Valley, are expected with low
temperatures in the mid to upper 60s.
* WHERE...In California, Central Siskiyou County and Western
Siskiyou County. In Oregon, Eastern Curry County and Josephine
County and Jackson County.
* WHEN...Until 11 PM PDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures will lead to a moderate risk of heat
illnesses, especially for those without adequate cooling methods.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A major risk of heat related illnesses is
possible this evening. This level of heat will impact anyone
without cooling methods. Periods of smoke could limit the ability
to open windows for cooler air at night.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
